Power Source
Most heat seal vacuum storage bag systems require
the use of AC power in order to make the appliance
operate. The standard heat seal storage system has a bed
or a tray in which the ends of the vacuum storage bag
material are placed into. The two pieces of the storage
bag are fused together when the cover of the unit is
lowered over the tray. This exposes the storage bag
material to a heating element and fuses the two parts of
the vacuum storage bag together. The fusion creates the
bottom of the storage bag. Now the vacuum storage bag is
ready to be filled. Once the storage bag is filled, the
open end of the vacuum storage bag is once again placed
on the heating tray. Prior to the ends being fused
together, the typical appliance utilizes a vacuum pump
to remove any excess air from the storage bag. Once a
preset level has been reached, the tray's cover is once
again lowered over the ends of the plastic storage bag
material to complete the seal. These types of vacuum
storage systems rely heavily on the availability of AC
power, thus limiting the places where these types of
heat seal vacuum storage systems can be used. The
ZipVac vacuum storage system utilizes a pre constructed
storage bag, thus eliminating the heating elements a
traditional heat seal storage system uses to fuse the
storage bag material together. The absence of heating
elements not only cuts down on the size of the ZipVac
storage system, but also eliminates the time needed for
the heating elements of a traditional heat seal storage
system to heat up.
The key to a ZipVac food storage system is its plastic zippered food
storage bag. Each bag comes with its own one way air
valve and the bottom seal. Since no AC power is need to
construct the storage bag, individuals need only to fill
and zip the vacuum storage bag shut. Once the bag is
airtight, a hand held vacuum pump is then used to
evacuate any remaining air in the storage bag. Depending
on the situation used, the storage bag can either be
vacuum sealed with a mechanical or rechargeable handheld
pump. One of the advantages of having a airtight seal
before the vacuum process is the time saved in the
creation of the storage bag. knowing the bottom seal is
airtight before the vacuum process saves the hassle of
going through the whole storage process and then
discovering a faulty seal. With ZipVac's vacuum food storage system, the
integrity of the storage bag can be seen instantly. If a
vacuum storage bag was improperly closed, the user needs
only to reseal the bag and
complete the vacuum process.
ZipVac's vacuum storage bags are available in a
variety of sizes and feature a plastic zippered seal
that
can be resealed without the use of AC power. Learn more
